Most first-timers leave with a smaller plan than they walked in expecting — and a few leave with no treatment at all. That's by design. The page below is what we'd talk through if you came in today.
Your First Visit
What we'll do at your first appointment (and what we won't)
Your first appointment is a consultation, not a treatment. We sit down properly, talk through what's on your mind, look at the area in good light, take photos if they'll help us track things later, and check your medical history.
What we won't do is rush you into a decision, treat you on the same day if I think you should sleep on it, or recommend three things when one would do. We won't perform a treatment that isn't right for you.
Who Anti-Wrinkle Treatment May Be Right For
Anti-wrinkle treatment relaxes specific muscles in the upper face. It tends to suit people in three positions:

The Right to Say No
Who it's not right for — and why we'd say no
Anti-wrinkle treatment isn't suitable for everyone. We'll decline treatment if any of the following applies:
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have certain autoimmune conditions, or you're on medication that may affect treatment safety.
- You have a known allergy to the active ingredient.
- You're under 18.
- The line you want treated isn't actually a line that anti-wrinkle treatment helps with — we'll explain that in the consultation.
- I get a sense that the request isn't coming from a settled place. I'll talk that through gently rather than just refuse.

The Mechanism
What anti-wrinkle treatment actually does
The active ingredient is a purified protein that, when injected into a specific muscle, temporarily reduces how strongly that muscle contracts. Less contraction means less repeated folding of the skin above the muscle, which is what causes dynamic lines.
That's the whole mechanism. It doesn't fill, it doesn't plump, it doesn't change the surface of the skin. It softens lines that come from movement — and only those.
How prescribing works here
Anti-wrinkle treatment is a prescription-only product, which means the prescription has to be issued by a registered prescriber. I'm not a prescriber myself — I work with a registered external prescriber who reviews each prescription before treatment. I administer the treatment; they prescribe it. We'll explain this part of the process clearly during your consultation so there's no surprise on the day.

The three areas first-timers ask about
Three areas come up far more often than any others when first-timers ask about anti-wrinkle treatment.

Forehead lines
The horizontal lines that form when you raise your eyebrows. They're often the first place people notice change. Worth treating cautiously the first time — a small dose, see how it settles, build from there.

Frown lines (the “11s”)
The vertical lines between the eyebrows. Often the most rewarding area to treat for first-timers — the change tends to read as “you, less tense” rather than “you, treated”.

Crow's feet
The fine lines around the outer eye when you smile. The honest note here is that we don't want to remove them entirely — you should still smile naturally. Soft, partial relaxation, not elimination.
On Pricing
How pricing works for first-timers
We don't publish a price band on this page on purpose. Pricing depends on the area or areas treated and on what your consultation actually concludes — and we'd rather walk you through it in person than commit you to a number you've read on a webpage.
The consultation has a clear cost that's confirmed at booking. If we go on to treat, the cost of treatment is a separate conversation we have inside the consultation, with no pressure either way. Booking a consultation is the right next step.
The Conversation
The consultation: what we look at, what we won't recommend
We'll go through your medical history, anything you're taking, and what you've had done before (if anything). We'll examine the area in good light, watch how the muscles move, and talk about what may be appropriate.
I won't recommend treating areas you didn't come in asking about. I won't add areas mid-appointment because the consultation is going well. If I think you should give it a few months and come back, I'll say so.
Aftercare
What to expect over 7–14 days
Most people leave the appointment looking exactly as they did before they came in. There may be small pinpoint marks at the injection sites that settle within a few hours.
We'll ask you to avoid heavy exercise, lying flat, prolonged heat (saunas, very hot showers), and rubbing the area for the rest of the day. Most other normal activity is fine.
You may start to see softening from around day 3, with full effect at around day 14. We usually book a brief two-week follow-up so we can look at the result together. You shouldn't feel committed to anything else at that visit.

FAQs
It depends on the dose, the placement, and what you start with. The honest answer is that you can have a result so subtle nobody notices, or a result that's clearly “done”. We aim for the first. You should still look like you, with a softer version of the line you came in about.
Anti-wrinkle treatment typically softens for around 3 to 4 months — sometimes a little longer, sometimes a little less. Movement returning gradually is normal and expected. We'll talk through your timing during the consultation.
Most first-timers describe it as a brief sting or pinch, no more than that. The needles are very small, the appointment is short, and we go at a pace that suits you.
If something doesn't look the way you expected, come back and tell me. Anti-wrinkle treatment isn't reversible the way a filler is, but it does wear off over a few months, and small adjustments can sometimes be made within the first 1–2 weeks. We'll look at it together.
There isn't a single right age. The right time depends on what you're trying to address and how your skin actually looks, not a number. We'll talk this through honestly in the consultation, and if I think it's too early, I'll tell you.
Not if it's done well. Movement isn't a side effect; it's a feature. We aim for softening, not stillness, so that you keep the expressions that make you look like yourself.
Yes. The clinic is set up around that being the answer sometimes. If you don't need this treatment — or if you don't need it yet — I'd rather you leave the consultation with that in mind than leave with a treatment you didn't actually want.
