Forehead lines are one of the first changes most people notice in the mirror. Whether they need treatment is a different question — and a more honest one. Below is what we'd talk through if you came in asking about them.

Why forehead lines form in the first place
The lines across your forehead are produced by a single muscle: the frontalis. It's the muscle you use every time you raise your eyebrows — to look surprised, concentrate, react. Over years of repetition, the skin above it folds along the same creases.
Two things determine how visible those lines become: how expressive your forehead is (some people use it more than others), and how your skin's elasticity changes with time, sun exposure, and hydration.
That gives us two kinds of line. Dynamic lines that appear only when you move. Static lines that linger even at rest. Anti-wrinkle treatment works well on the first. For the second, expectations need to be calibrated — and that calibration is what the consultation is for.

The Treatment
What treatment looks like in practice
The appointment itself is short — usually 20 to 30 minutes, including the time to clean the area, mark the injection points, and watch how your forehead muscle moves. The injections are quick. Most first-timers describe them as a brief pinch, no more.
Anti-wrinkle is a prescription-only treatment, so the prescription itself is reviewed and issued by a registered external prescriber I work with — I administer the treatment, they prescribe it. We'll explain that part during your consultation.
You'll leave the appointment looking essentially the same as when you came in. The result builds over the following 1–2 weeks.

Anti-wrinkle treatment works on dynamic lines (the ones that appear when you raise your eyebrows). For static lines (the ones that linger at rest), the result is partial — softer, but rarely gone. Knowing which kind you have changes what's realistic.

We start lower than the textbook dose for first-time clients. The reason is simple: a smaller dose preserves more eyebrow movement and avoids the heavy-brow feeling some people experience. We can build up at future visits if needed.

Realistic Results
What “subtle” actually looks like
The result we're aiming for is a forehead that still moves, but folds less when it does. Lines may soften noticeably; deep static lines may soften only partially. Anti-wrinkle treatment isn't a resurfacing treatment — it doesn't change the skin's texture, only how dynamic the underlying muscle is.
If you're looking for changes in skin quality alongside, skin boosters or microneedling are usually the supporting treatments to consider — not as a replacement for anti-wrinkle, but in combination.
Aftercare
The first 14 days after treatment
For the rest of treatment day, avoid heavy exercise, lying flat, prolonged heat (saunas, very hot showers), and rubbing or massaging the area. Most other normal activity is fine.
Softening usually begins around day 3, with the full effect visible by around day 14. We'll book a brief two-week review so we can look at the result together. You shouldn't feel any pressure to commit to anything else at that visit.
